Our HistoryÂ
The MLAC is part of a statewide network of Local Advisory Councils established in 1999 by the Montana State Legislature and administered through the Montana Department of Health and Human Services (Addictive and Mental Disorders Division). LACs operate under the auspices of Montana’s several Service Area Authorities. The original MLAC was active from the early 2000’s until approximately 2016. The current MLAC was formed in 2024 at the direction of the Montana DPHHS.Â
